This website does more than just tell what the job projections are and the median salary. The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence provides certification for automotive professionals. Certification is not necessary to become an automotive technician. However, being certified can give greater employment and earnings opportunities. The ASE gives a list of why being certified is beneficial to your career as an automotive technician. It also provides everything you need to know about the certification test, from registration to preparing for it.

It’s important to research everything that will be involved and know what you’re getting into before you sign up for a career so you know that this is the right career choice for you.
